Stephon Marbury's $15 Basketball Shoes

NBA star Stephon Marbury has created his own line of athletic apparel, but you won't see the sky high prices like $150 Air Jordans. Marbury's shoes will sell for $14.98. In fact, everything in his line--including high quality leather jackets, hoodies, hats, jeans and shoes--will sell for under $15 exclusively at Steve & Barry's, a national apparel retailer.
Marbury grew up in the projects of Brooklyn, N.Y. and could never afford the ultra-expensive shoes and apparel that were marketed to urban children like him. So he started his line--dubbed Starbury--to offer something affordable. And also big on style and quality. His shoes and clothes are made from the same stuff as the more expensive lines.
"This is not about basketball," Marbury told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "Everything we're doing is motivated by us, just being a group of people who feel it's time for change."
So far the change is working: Starbury shoes are selling out. Proof positive that a cause can still be good for business.

THIS IS VERY GOOD WHAT STEPHON IS DOING, BECAUSE IF YOU ADD UP ALL THE FIGURES HE'S RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE COURT WEARING THESE SHOES, I MEAN THIS SHOES ARE HOT, AND I JUST BROUGHT ME SOME AIR JORDANS AND THAT DON'T ADD UP TP THE PEFORMANCE OF THE STARBURY BASKETBALL SHOE. I'AM GOING TO BUY MY WHOLE BASKETBALL TEAM A PAIR, I MEAN $14.98, IT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE THAN A $200.00 DOLLAR SHOE. THAT'S WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STORY.[GO KNICKS]

I whole-heartedly appreciate what Marbury has done as far as providing affordable shoes for our kids. This Christmas - we were able to get 8 pairs of shoes for every kid in our family for under $150.00 dollars. That is pretty awesome and the shoes look great. I am proud to be a supporter and I thanks again.

God bless you. It's about time someone used there star status to sell an affordable sneaker for those parents whom are living check 2 check to be able to buy there children at least two pairs of quality made sneakers without being made fun of or having to spend over $300.00. Hopefuly this will wake up the sneaker companies to see what those expensive sneakers cause fights, killings, and verbal abuse to the children whom can't afford the more expensive sneaker. May God continue to bless and keep you. Thank you for being a "REAL MAN" to help children understand and learn the true value of hard working honest dollar is about.

i just bought the shoes 2day. they is hella hot. i also got an outfit 2 match and a hoody. these r some great clothes i can buy easily. im only 15 and dont have a job yet so this was great when i found out about them. thank you Stephon Marbury for what you are doin for the community.
